Deep Dive: Tulsi Ghat
Tulsi Ghat is dedicated to the great 16th-century poet-saint Goswami Tulasi Das. It was here that he composed a significant portion of the *Ramcharitmanas*. The ghat was formerly known as Lolarka Ghat but was renamed in his honor.
The ghat still houses a small temple dedicated to Lord Hanuman and preserves some of the saint's personal belongings, including a pair of wooden clogs. Every year, it hosts the 'Nakh-Katayya' and Krishna Lila festivals, making it a vital center for the cultural life of Kashi.
